Ottawa media and publishers are leveraging social media such as facebook and twitter to distribute news content and engage their communities. There are also twitter and facebook accounts for independent journalists beyond this list, which I also recommend you read, watch and follow.

If you would like to add to the following list of Ottawa based media outlets or want to report a broken link, please do so by leaving a comment.

Ottawa Media Outlets -Broadcast -Radio
Ottawa Media Outlets - Print – Daily and Weekly

    • Good question. I know of wiki lists that exist providing twitter accounts for individual journalists, (not well organized by outlet, I might add). I feel a new project coming on. Perhaps I will create social media list for national outlets as well. Thanks for the spark!

  1. Myself, Ann Douglas and lots of tweeps — probably you too — have national journalists twitter lists, so I know what you mean. I have a list of 6 Ottawa bureaus with tweet feeds of political stories but they are one-way … then you’d have to drill down to their online editors who tweet like @wicary at the Globe…big job. Here’s the six all the same (Babble-free feeds from Hill bureaus Ntl Post, CP, Globe, Sun, CBC, CPAC.) http://twitter.com/#!/JulietONeill/hill-politics-bureaus/members

    • Lists are great for tracking individual journalists and outlets feeds. I have a few – some public, some private and locked. I should devote some time to organizing them to be more efficient. You’re right – it IS a big job!
